Memorandum of Understanding formalizes cooperation between IOGP and Unified Bulk Standardization JIP
In a meeting at IOGP’s London headquarters, IOGP Executive Director Gordon Ballard and Tae-Jin Kim Senior Vice President Hyundai Heavy Industries (as a representative of the UBJIP Steering Committee) signed the MOU. It will bring UBJIP deliverables into standards published by international standardization bodies such as ISO and IEC.
IOGP, through its established process IOGP Standards solution, will help deliver the terms of the MOU. Working together, IOGP and the UBJIP will strengthen their ties through regular communications and agreed standardization priorities.

About UBJIP
The UBJIP was initiated with Korean fabricators and key stakeholders in the oil & gas industry to demonstrate that standardization is feasible and that there is a significant potential for cost savings by reducing variations in requirements to bulk design and material in oil & gas projects. The JIP started in 2015 and is currently run with JIP participants consisting of Hyundai Heavy Industries, Samsung Heavy Industries, Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, DNV GL, ABS, BV, LR, KOSHIPA and KOMERI as well as technical advisory members through Chevron, BHP Billiton Petroleum, TechnipFMC, CB&I and Doris Engineering.
