Seven more Engineering Contractors sign up as JIP33 Partners

Bechtel, JGC Corporation, KBR, McDermott, Wood Group, Worley and Saipem, have signed up as Partner Contractors to collaborate on JIP33 and embed standardized specifications in their working practices – joining Aker Solutions to make a total of eight Partner Contractors.

The group will engage with JIP33 on an ongoing basis to share, discuss and improve sector-wide value generation from the programme.

Richard Mortimer, VP Engineering BP and Chair of the JIP33 steering committee says:

“We’re delighted that so many engineering contractors are choosing to be active partners in the JIP33 programme. Over 500 operators, contractors and suppliers explored JIP33 at our recent Industry Days and there’s growing recognition that using standardized specifications can deliver significant benefits especially when the whole oil and gas industry supply chain is involved.”

About JIP33

The International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP) started Joint Industry Programme (JIP) 33 in 2016 to develop standardised specifications, allowing the supply chain to become better, cheaper and faster.

14 specifications have already been published and are delivering benefits for users on major projects. A further group of 35-40 specifications is in development and will be published by the end of 2020.
