S-563 Material Data Sheets for Piping & Valve Components specification launched for public review

JIP33 has issued the S-563 Material Data Sheets for Piping & Valve Components specification for public review.  The consultation period will run for four weeks and will close on Sunday, 22 August 2021 at 23:00 GMT.

The purpose of this specification is to define a minimum common set of supplementary requirements for the specification for procurement of the most commonly used materials and to facilitate the manufacture of stock products to reduce cost and increase availability, for application in the petroleum and natural gas industries.

The JIP33 standardized procurement specification normally follows a common document structure comprising of four documents, which together with the purchase order define the overall technical specification for procurement.  This spec comes as a ‘Specification-Only’.

It has been developed in consultation with a broad user and supplier base to realize benefits from standardization and achieve significant project and schedule cost reductions.
