S-561 Subsea Trees (API) specification launched for public review

JIP33 has issued the S-561 Subsea Trees (API) specification for public review. The consultation period runs for 6-weeks due to holiday period and will close in the new year, on Monday, 02 January 2023 at 23:00 GMT.

The purpose of this specification is to define a minimum common set of supplementary requirements for procurement of subsea trees to API Specification 17D, Third Edition, October 2021, Specification for Subsea Wellhead and Tree Equipment for application in the petroleum and natural gas industries.

The JIP33 standardized procurement specification follows a common document structure, normally comprising of four documents.  However as previously advised, going forward this has now been amended to five documents, with the Specification with Justifications now added, which together with the purchase order define the overall technical specification for procurement.

It has been developed in consultation with a broad user and supplier base to realize benefits from standardization and achieve significant project and schedule cost reductions.

The files are available to download at http://www.iogp-jip33.org/library/S-561.

Updates and future specifications will be announced via the project’s mailing list, LinkedIn and Twitter profile.
