New JIP33 delivery centre opens in Houston

JIP33 has opened a new delivery centre at Aker Solutions’ Houston facilities.  It joins the existing delivery centre in London and will focus on developing specifications that are important for the North American market.

Adri Postema, JIP33 Project Director says:

“The current low oil price reinforces the need for supply chain efficiency.  Our new delivery centre gives us easier access to operators, EPC’s, suppliers and other stakeholders in North America, and we can really ramp up our pace on delivering new specifications.

“We’re really excited about it. It shows how committed our JIP33 sponsors are to driving standardization in the oil and gas sector.”

Work has already started on developing procurement specifications for OCTG (Oil Country Tubular Goods) Casing and Tubing. Carrie Sanchez – Houston delivery centre lead for Aker Solutions says:

“It’s great to see the positive energy the company Subject Matter Experts are bringing to collaborating on JIP33 specifications. The desire for bespoke corporate designs seems to be over.”
