S-718 Basic Process Measurement Instruments launched for public review

JIP33 has issued the S-718 Basic Process Measurement Instruments specification for public review.  The consultation period will run for four weeks and will close on Thursday, 21 October 2021 at 23:00 GMT.

The purpose of this specification is to define a minimum common set of requirements for the procurement of basic process measurement instruments for application in the petroleum and natural gas industries.

The JIP33 standardized procurement specification follows a common document structure, normally comprising of four documents.  However as previously advised, going forward this has now been amended to five documents, with the Specification with Justifications now added, which together with the purchase order define the overall technical specification for procurement.  The Procurement Data Sheet consists of 13 tabs, all of which are separate data sheets covering different instrument types (for flow, level, pressure and temperature).

It has been developed in consultation with a broad user and supplier base to realize benefits from standardization and achieve significant project and schedule cost reductions.

The files are available to download at https://www.iogp-jip33.org/library/s-718.

Updates and future specifications will be announced via the project’s mailing list, LinkedIn and Twitter profile.
